“Thanks to one mom, girls who don’t like stereotypically feminine clothes and prefer more gender neutral attire have another brand to shop: a line of clothing called Girls Will Be.”

Mom Fed-Up with Short, Tight Clothes for Girls Starts Genius New Line for Kids
The brand’s clothing for girls differs from traditional girls’ clothing in so many ways.

JOHNS CREEK Location – Support Group Meetings Due to summer camp at the church we will change rooms for June only. Rooms 214, 216, 220, 221 will be used for June. See signs on doors to see which room to go to. WHEN: Tuesday, June 18 (3rd Tuesday of Each Month) 7 – 8:30 PM WHERE: Johns Creek United Methodist Church 11180 Medlock Bridge Road Johns Creek, GA 30097 (2nd Floor – changed rooms for June only) PFLAG JOHNS CREEK is here for you! Providing free and confidential support to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) individuals, and their parents, families, and friends in the North Atlanta metro area. PFLAG JOHNS CREEK support groups meet on the third Tuesday of each and every month at the JOHNS CREEK location. We know it can be intimidating, if not frightening, at first to share personal, real life struggles with strangers. Please know that you do not have to speak unless and until you feel comfortable. Some people just come and listen to others’ stories. Sometimes part of the process, especially in the beginning, is to just listen to others who have been where you are. PFLAG JOHNS CREEK is a safe space! And it’s OK to cry (We have plenty of tissues on hand!). We have four separate groups and each room has a sign identifying which group is meeting in that room. Choose the group that is best for you: TWEENS – A special safe space for LGBTQ+ tweens (4th-7th grade; ages 9-13) to socialize with other tweens. This is NOT a facilitated support group but instead a social group with games, art, and other fun for tweens to enjoy all while being themselves. The Tween Social Group runs concurrent with the older Teen and Adult Support Groups. A parent must attend an Adult Support Group Meeting or remain in the 3rd floor main hallway. TEENS – Support/discussion for LGBTQ+ teens and their teen friends/allies (8th grade and up; minimum age 13). PARENTS/ALLIES – Support/discussion for parents, families, and friends of LGBTQ+ adults or youth. ADULTS – Support/discussion for LGBTQ+ adults only. Safe space for adults including those who are questioning. Questions? Want to know more? Web: PFLAGJohnsCreek.org Facebook: Facebook.com/PFLAGJohnsCreek

People think of Pride as just a celebration these days. But just in the last week Trey Peters was gunned down while homophobic slurs were hurled at him here in Atlanta. LGBTQ+ people are killed every day in our country for simply existing. Pride started as a riot fighting against the violence that faced our community 50 years ago, and it is a fight we are still fighting. Hatred is loud and ugly and pervasive. Love must be even more visible and active to fight it. Rest in Power Trey Peters.

Inspiration! ??⚪️?? – #Repost @jamielizabetha5h ・・・ It’s wild to think back to the time when I thought the possibility of living my truth was totally out of the question. Being military, potentially losing all of my friends and family, social stigma, and many other deterring factors all contributed to the construction of a wall that I had to break through in order for me to find true happiness. The primary driver for enabling me to take those initial steps forward was the collection of stories of all the strong #trans people who came before me. Seeing so many amazing people already go through their own journey and live their life so authentically gave me the strength I needed. I am forever grateful, and so very proud to be part of this community!! ?✊ ??⚪️?? . . . #transgender #transpride #transgenderpride #transisbeautiful #girlslikeus #transrights #transrightsarehumanrights #transmilitary #transwoman #transgirl #transformation #transition #glowup #queer #lgbtqia #lgbtq #lgbt #wontbeerased
