Vernon Highway Sandy Springs, GA 30328 (Community Rooms A, B, & C) Parking on the left of the main drive. The location is on your right as seen in map below. Meetings are in the main building. Follow the signs. No food or drink allowed due to kosher facility. PFLAG JOHNS CREEK is here for you! Providing free and confidential support to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) individuals, and their parents, families, and friends in the North Atlanta metro area. PFLAG JOHNS CREEK support groups meet on the first Tuesday of each and every month at the PERIMETER location. We know it can be intimidating, if not frightening, at first to share personal, real life struggles with strangers. Please know that you do not have to speak unless and until you feel comfortable. Some people just come and listen to others’ stories. Sometimes part of the process, especially in the beginning, is to just listen to others who have been where you are. PFLAG JOHNS CREEK is a safe space! And it’s OK to cry (We have plenty of tissues on hand!). We have two separate groups and each room has a sign identifying which group is meeting in that room. Choose the group that is best for you: TEENS (Room A) – Support/discussion for LGBTQ teens and their teen friends/allies (8th grade and up). ADULTS (Rooms B & C) – Support/discussion for LGBTQ adults and parents, families, and friends of LGBTQ adults or youth.

“The stakes of these findings are high: If the presence of stigma, prejudice and discrimination harms LGBT people — and the research shows that it does — learning how to reduce those harms may be a matter of life and death. Questions about the impact of discrimination have a bearing not only on court cases and pending legislation in Congress and many states but also on the policies and practices of hospitals, businesses and other organizations seeking to balance religious liberty with the concrete harms that discrimination can cause LGBT people.” d=n

#Repost @freemomhugsgeorgia ・・・ During transgender awareness month you met @prestonuptous. Preston and his spouse @transitioningtomxlee have a beautiful love story and we want to share it with you. Introducing Mr. and Mx. Lee: Rewriting the Stars Together Every Day 04.07.2019 Ary was perusing their Facebook one day and Preston (under the name he was using at that time) popped up as a Suggested Facebook friend. They had many mutual friends through their affirming church so Ary took a chance in reaching out, and shortly after that, they became a couple – a lesbian couple at that time. Ary is often known for being an extremely kind and loving person and helped Preston feel ready to begin his transition to his true self around the time they became engaged. During their first year of marriage, Ary has felt inspired by their husband’s courage and has grown more confident due to the love they share that Ary has decided to make known that they do not identify with a gender and consider themselves to be non-binary. Preston and Ary have overcome a lot of pain in their lives to find love with each other – just as they are. They are a beautiful example of the happy transformations that love makes possible. After a honeymoon to New York City, the Lees reside in the Atlanta area with their 3 rescue animals. Following service in the US Army, Preston is getting a business degree and launching a nonprofit “It’s Up to Us” which intends to motivate, educate, and uplift the lgbtqia+ community and their allies. Ary is the owner of Champion Pet Services and is also pursuing their MSW to become a Social Worker and hopes to serve lgbtqia+ children and their families. They both are Starbucks baristas and PFLAG volunteers. During their first year of marriage, Preston and Ary are continuing to learn how to keep their relationship a priority by making a point to spend time together and have fun together even when their lives are busy. “No matter who you are, don’t give up on finding love. Lgbtqia+ people are all worthy of being loved not in spite of their gender identity or sexual orientation but because of it.” – Mr. and Mx. Lee
