Though Atlanta celebrates Pride in October, nationally June is Pride month. So happy Pride month to everyone! This year, especially, we honor and support people of color and we stand with them in solidarity. As we start this month, let us not forget those who paved the way. Pride began as a riot, not a parade. It began on the backs of many LGBTQ+ individuals, many of them black and brown transgender women, at the Stonewall Inn that night in June 1969. We must do our part to continue to stand up for what is right, for what we believe in, and most of all for WHO WE ARE! Pride means a lot of different things to a lot of different people. The one thing that is universal about it is LOVE. Let that LOVE be the source of comfort, healing and understanding. Let that LOVE unite us in our fight to stamp out injustice and discrimination for all. At PFLAG Johns Creek you are LOVED, you are RESPECTED, and you are SEEN and HEARD. Now, more than ever, we show our pride and love for YOU. #pride2020 ❤️???????
