WHEN: Tuesday, November 19, 2019 7pm – 8:30pm WHERE: Johns Creek United Methodist Church 11180 Medlock Bridge Road Johns Creek, GA 30097 (3rd Floor) Helping your transgender child transition socially, physically, and emotionally. We will have a panel of speakers to discuss this subject from several perspectives: 1. Mick Rehrig, LCSW, counselor specializing in LGBTQ+ people 2. Jeannie Senter, advocate for safe schools 3. Kris Janovitz, transitional coach, mom of transgender daughter 4. A mom of a transgender son PLEASE NOTE: Our regular scheduled meetings will meet as usual during the education event for those who need support or wish not to attend the education event. TWEENS (Room 323) – A special safe space for LGBTQ+ tweens (4th-7th grade; ages 9-13) to socialize with other tweens. This is NOT a facilitated support group but instead a social group with games, art, and other fun for tweens to enjoy all while being themselves. The Tween Social Group runs concurrent with the older Teen and Adult Support Groups. A parent must attend an Adult Support Group Meeting or remain in the 3rd floor main hallway. TEENS (Rooms 325, 326) – Support/discussion for LGBTQ+ teens and their teen friends/allies (8th grade and up; minimum age 13).
