PFLAG Johns Creek is here for you! Providing free and confidential support to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) individuals and their parents, families, and friends in the North Atlanta metro area.

PFLAG Johns Creek support groups meet on the third Tuesday of each and every month at the JOHNS CREEK location.

TWEENS (Room 323) – A special safe space for LGBTQ+ tweens (4th-7th grade; ages 9-13) to socialize with other tweens. This is NOT a facilitated support group but instead a social group with games, art, and other fun for tweens to enjoy all while being themselves. The Tween Social Group runs concurrent with the older Teen and Adult Support Groups. A parent must attend an Adult Support Group Meeting or remain in the 3rd floor main hallway.

TEENS (Rooms 325, 326) – Support/discussion for LGBTQ+ teens and their teen friends/allies (8th grade and up; minimum age 13). PARENTS/ALLIES (Rooms 315, 320, 322) – Support/discussion for parents, families, and friends of LGBTQ+ adults or youth.

ADULTS (Room 313) – Support/discussion for LGBTQ+ adults only. Safe space for adults including those who are questioning.

We will meet at the North Springs MARTA station at 10:30 AM and travel downtown together. The parade doesn’t start until 12 noon but we must arrive early downtown to locate other Atlanta area PFLAG chapters (we are all marching together) and get lined up in our spot designated by the parade committee.

Be prepared to purchase your own MARTA tickets. MARTA fare is $2.50 for a one-way trip or $5.00 for the full round-trip. All MARTA fares must be purchased with a Breeze card or Breeze ticket available for purchase at the machines in the station.
For anyone who does not come with the group or wishes to come on their own, we will be in ROW F SPACE 9 at the PFLAG Atlanta truck on the bridge at West Peachtree Street when you exit from MARTA Civic Center Station. – Be sure to bring your own bottled water or other drink for the parade route to ensure you stay hydrated. – It’s advisable to wear sunscreen and a hat or even a long sleeve T-shirt for sun protection. In the event of rain, the parade usually goes on so if the weather turns be prepared with a hooded rain cover/poncho. – This is an opportunity to be yourself, dress crazy, show those rainbow colors, and have fun! – BUY A PFLAG T-SHIRT FOR THE PRIDE PARADE ($16). You will be able to pick up your purchased t-shirts at the PFLAG truck at the start of the parade. Visit https://ift.tt/34RrGxE to make your purchase. But order ASAP!!! – We will have a tent at the end of the parade route in Piedmont Park in Midtown where we’ll have sandwiches, snacks, and water. There will be vendors, music, and lots of activities in the park to check out if you choose.
PARENTS PLEASE NOTE: This is not a drop-off event. Kids under 18 should be accompanied by a parent or another adult you have given permission to.
