REMINDER: Teen Social Event – Friday, December 2 | PFLAG JOHNS CREEK invites area LGBTQ teens and their friends/allies to our: Teen Social Event Friday, December 2 8-10 PM Church of the Savior UCC Georgetowne Park 100 Prospect Place Alpharetta, GA 30005 Hang out! Have fun! BE YOURSELF! All in a safe & affirming space. _________________________________________________ THIS MONTH’S ACTIVITY: Mindfulness & Meditation Session – Yoga therapist and instructor Lisa Hughes will lead the group in a session of mindfulness and meditation. – Yoga mats will be provided. – Wear comfy clothes and socks! – NO phones during the meditation session. _________________________________________________ Ages 13 and up. $5 donation per person requested at the door. Just a reminder that one of our faith partners, Church of the Savior UCC in Alpharetta, will host a community vigil at 5:00pm on Sunday, November 20, in observance of Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR), a day set aside annually to memorialize those who have lost their lives due to anti-transgender hatred or prejudice. Though TDOR is a day of mourning, it is also a day to come together and renew our commitment to stand with transgender individuals whenever their rights and dignity as human beings are under attack.
