Maggie began attending PFLAG johns creek with her teenage son soon after he came out as pansexual. She very quickly realized she had found her new family and became a facilitator and joined the board over the next few years. Maggie also began wearing a rainbow every day to show the world her affirming stance and to express her joy at becoming a part of the community of parent/family/friend allies. One of her younger children came out as transgender shortly after, and it has been an amazing journey to witness his transition with all the love and support from our family’s network that PFLAG helped us create.
