About

Our Mission & Vision

We envision a world where diversity is celebrated and all are respected, valued, and affirmed. Our mission is to build on a foundation of loving families united with LGBTQ+ individuals and allies who support one another, and to educate ourselves and our communities to speak up as advocates until all hearts and minds respect, value, and affirm LGBTQ+ people.

We work to realize this by meeting people where they are, and by acting upon our three pillars:

PFLAG Support - Provide safe spaces for open and friendly discussions for LGBTQ+ Adults & teens, families & allies
PFLAG Education - Strive to learn and teach others about the unique issues and challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ community
PFLAG Advocacy - Work within our communities to change attitudes and push for policies and legislation that will bring full equality for all LGBTQ+ individuals

We welcome the participation and support of all who share in our Vision and Mission and who hope to realize our goals. Get involved today!

PFLAG Johns Creek, GA

We were founded in 2012 in response to the growing need in the community for LGBTQ+ resources. Our founders were originally part of the PFLAG Atlanta chapter and they were instrumental in establishing our presence in the north metro area. Our reach has grown beyond simply Johns Creek to provide support for families and individuals from surrounding counties including Forsyth, Gwinnett, Hall, and Dawson. We were the first chapter in Georgia to offer support groups specifically for LGBTQ+ teens and teen allies. We helped to start the PFLAG Sandy Springs chapter and maintain a close relationship with them.

PFLAG Johns Creek is a chapter of PFLAG National. Learn more about their origins here.
